Penha of the councilors unanimously approved a draft resolution that halves the parliamentary recess period. The law changes from 90 to 44 the number of vacation days per year _ still 14 days to more than one employee is off, as is standard in the legislature.
The change in the legislative recess was one of the demands of the protests of June last year. Penha had one of the greatest periods of parliamentary recess in the country, 60 days from December to February and 30 more in the middle of the year. The amendment is effective as of July recess.
