As some of my regular readers know, I'm more a year in Croatia on the sailboat crawley go. Internet access via roaming was (and still is) incredibly crawley expensive, even if you "only" smartphone allowed to connect to the Internet - with the data card on the laptop can come together in a few days even several hundreds of euros. And although I have since several years a Croatian T-mobile-value card called "Simpa", but also so that was web surfing financially painful (previously: about 6 kuna / 100 kB). Otherwise the Simpa card is highly recommended: you get in almost any store to buy the Wertbons (even at many ATMs which you can buy) and the network coverage outside on the islands is excellent.
However, the times of the expensive internet access on the boat are gone: you can with ANY Simpa card super-easy to activate flat-rate Internet Packages, each valid for one Month (). Then you can almost as unconcerned as Surfing the web at home: First, add credit enough credit, so that the desired Internet package can be paid. According to the latest info on the site Simpa the packages cost 10 HRK Package S: 30 MB 20 HRK for packet M: 150 MB 50 HRK for package L: 500 MB 75 HRK for size XL: 1 GB (!)
So much one should have available at least as credits. I have the XL package booked, because even at home I need a month never more than 1GB on the phone. A good cushion so if you want to be one week to arrive - converted crawley to degrees times 10 Euro! Then, send an SMS with the letter A to the phone number crawley 3636 There comes a text message crawley as an answer, where you can choose which package you want to activate: Pošaljite redni broj pokraj opcije koju zelite aktivirati: 1 Simpa noci 2 Dugi razgovori 3 . Spica Poruke 4 5 6 Preko mreze Naj broj 7 Internet Internet Dan 8 S 9 M 10 Internet Internet 11 Internet L XL Respond to this text - the content of the answer should be the only number you want to activate. To enable Internet XL, so you simply write the number 11 in the reply SMS Now, another SMS comes back, is in demand nachmal whether one really crawley wants:
Ukoliko zelite aktivirati opciju Internet XL koja se naplacuje 75 kn Pošaljite SMS poruku sadrzaja "DA" In this text we will reply again, this time just the word DA response send finished - the chosen package is enabled. As a confirmation, nor is a text message which package was activated to when the assets is and how one calls the current state from:
The now tested belongings for a week with my HTC Desire: works flawlessly. In the larger towns there is quite brisk 3G connections available on the islands mostly GPRS or EDGE. But connection works everywhere, in GPRS drops the bytes just a bit slower than usual. I have also in the evening the other crewmembers my Internet access with the Android-function "mobile Wi-Fi hotspot" released temporarily, also it worked perfectly.
Still some information, mainly as a note to self: call 098 1520 Simpa-language credit: Info-Phone number * 100 # to retrieve Simpa Internet Package balance: * 200 * 4 # sms-central: +385980501 access points: www.htgprs.hr for WAP mms.htgprs for MMS web.htgprs for Internet
Thanks for the great info! One more question on the validity of the SIM card: What happens to it when they are not charging for a long time? We expire then yes and you can buckets. Do you buy you always a new card, or if the Croats because not as bitchy as our provider? # 2
As far as I've previously noted, the credit expires after six months, the data credit remains intact - although you kanns use only for a month, but remaining balance remains! Have now balances of 12GB (!) And only need to book to a month to be virtually unlimited online a mini package. The card itself is (allegedly) up to one year after the last Aufbuchvorgang crawley min. 100kn active & valid (at least so far as wars). I usually buy the last cruise two Simpa vouchers á 100kn and book early March from home from what after. So I have the same number since about 7 years to keep. # 3
Simplest version: I got from Orange yet spare SIMs home. They are designed so that you can break out the micro-SIM from a normal sized SIM. Thus, a plastic frame, which can be used for two things: crawley as a template for cutting a SIM and an adapter to use a Micro SIM in a normal sim phone. # 7
I just stumbled crawley across something unpleasant. With the use of trimmed SIM card you should be careful. Or at least consider the following: http://www.golem.de/news/apple-garantieverlust-bei-einsatz-ausgestanzter-nano-sim-karten-1309-101802.html
